Brokers are executing one in every four pricing searches for non-qualified mortgage products, MPA Magazine reported. Data from September released by mortgage technology provider Optimal Blue indicates that non-QM products currently represent a 12 percent share of total loan locks. [1]

Lending activity in the non-agency sector has expanded throughout 2026 as originators seek options for borrowers with non-traditional income streams, according to MPA Magazine. Some mortgage brokers noted that non-QM interest rates were lower than conventional loan pricing on specific real estate transactions. [1]

Strong capital markets liquidity continues to support non-agency loan volumes, MPA Magazine reported. Brennan O'Connell, director of data solutions at Optimal Blue, stated that he expects non-QM market share to grow past its current 12 percent level. [1]
