The median United States home sale price fell 0.1 percent year over year to $389,601 for the four weeks ending October 25, 2026, according to Redfin data reported by MPA Magazine. This marks the second consecutive week of annual declines and breaks an unbroken streak of year over year price growth that began in 2023. [1]

MPA Magazine reported that the drop followed a 0.2 percent year over year price decline in the preceding week. Despite the lower prices, pending home sales dropped to a record low as overall buyer demand continued to contract across the national housing market. [1]

Housing affordability has not improved alongside falling prices, MPA Magazine reported. The median monthly mortgage payment rose to $2,786 based on a 7.32 percent average mortgage rate. That figure represents a 10.7 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier, holding payments near their all-time peak. [1]
