A new national survey from Neighbors Bank shows that shared homeownership has become a mainstream preference for buyers. MPA Magazine reported that 60 percent of respondents would prefer to co-buy and own half a home now rather than continue renting until they can afford a property on their own. [1]
The survey gathered responses from 1,014 American adults in September. According to MPA Magazine, the results indicate that renting until an individual can purchase a home alone is no longer the default choice for most people in the country. [1]
Americans are citizens and nationals of the United States of America. White Americans constitute 61.6 percent of the United States population, while Hispanic and Latino Americans account for 18.7 percent, and Black Americans represent 12.4 percent. [4]
The shift in buyer attitudes comes as housing costs remain significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels. MPA Magazine reported that these findings emerge as the market forces driving housing affordability begin to shift. [1]
In short
- Neighbors Bank surveyed 1,014 American adults in September.
