Commercial real estate teams have rapidly expanded their adoption of artificial intelligence initiatives, though few report successfully reaching their target outcomes. Propmodo reported that nearly every commercial real estate team is moving to deploy artificial intelligence tools, yet more than 90 percent of these pilots fall short of their intended goals. [1]
Data from JLL's 2025 Global Real Estate Technology Survey shows the rapid acceleration of technology implementation across the industry. The survey of more than 1,000 senior commercial real estate decision-makers in 16 markets revealed that the share of teams piloting artificial intelligence jumped from under 5 percent to 92 percent over a three-year period, according to Propmodo. [1]
Occupiers are currently executing an average of five artificial intelligence pilots at the same time, according to Propmodo. These testing programs span approximately 27 identified use cases as firms reorganize their technology budgets around artificial intelligence initiatives. [1]
The widespread failure to meet pilot goals stems from structural operational obstacles rather than simple data issues. Propmodo reported that real estate artificial intelligence integration challenges include data quality, verification costs, domain models, and existing workflows. [1]
