Staten Island businessman Mazen Dayem has added New York City and real estate firm Cushman and Wakefield as defendants in a lawsuit seeking up to 52 million dollars, Bisnow reported. The amended complaint was filed this month in a legal case originally initiated in July. [1]
According to Bisnow, Dayem claims he lost an eight million dollar real estate contract after refusing to pay a 250,000 dollar bribe. The lawsuit asserts that New York City and Cushman and Wakefield failed to properly supervise their employees regarding the deal. [1]
The dispute centers on 850 Third Avenue in Sunset Park, where Dayem alleges he was excluded from transactions involving city agencies after being retained by the property ownership. Bisnow reported that the lawsuit involves former city real estate head Jesse Hamilton and Cushman and Wakefield Vice Chairman of Brokerage Sales Diana Boutross. [1]
Cushman and Wakefield is a global commercial real estate services firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. As of 2025, the company employed approximately 53,000 people in over 350 offices across nearly 60 countries and reported 10.3 billion dollars in annual revenue. [4]
