Amazon bought two commercial buildings at the former Forever 21 headquarters in Lincoln Heights, while 2028 Summer Olympics organizer LA28 leased the remaining third building on the campus. Bisnow reported that the 39-acre property located at 3930 Mission Road will no longer sit vacant following the property transactions. [1]
According to Bisnow, public records show Amazon paid 9.52 million dollars in Measure ULA transfer taxes for its portion of the site. That tax payment indicates a purchase price of 146.2 million dollars for the two acquired buildings. [1]
Amazon declined to comment on its specific plans for the Lincoln Heights buildings. Bisnow noted that the e-commerce giant has been expanding its national real estate network to support same-day delivery operations. Amazon was founded in 1994 as an online book marketplace before expanding into broader retail and e-commerce infrastructure. [1][4]
The lease agreement brings the Olympic organizing committee to the site ahead of the Games. The 2028 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028, with Los Angeles acting as the main host city alongside secondary event locations across Greater Los Angeles and Oklahoma City.
